Wynn Slots Group FAQ

NOTE: MAJOR CHANGES MAY 3 2024

The game team has made major changes in VIP levels, reward limitations, and calendar availability as of Friday, May 3, 2024.

The FAQ below the separator bar is now largely inaccurate in terms of game reward mechanics, including VIP levels, required spend for rewards, gem caps, and redemption limitations. VIP cycles, resort fees, booking tips, and some other details are unchanged as far as we know.

I will work on updating as time permits, but for now, refer to the game screens themselves and the VIP Points/Levels section of Torpedo Labs official FAQ for the latest information.

2025-11-27 update: The previous spreadsheet wasn’t updated when levels 3-5 got easier. Here is a partial update, based on the official Wynn Slots FAQ. The gem cap is accurate per the official FAQ too, with level 0 (i.e. no level) having a cap of 5,000.

2024-05-04 noon: Here’s the summary of the new VIP levels and rewards as far as I’ve been able to aggregate. This is also shared in the Wynn Slots Tips & Tricks group. I’ve removed this chart because it was outdated. Watch above for an updated summary as it arrives.

My assessment is that the closer you get to maxing your bookings and nights, the better of a deal it is. If you can only use one stay per 180-day period, it’s probably not worth it anymore, except on available but expensive nights. Based on a fairly normal day rate of ~4k gems ($200 or so cash rate), two bookings at levels 3 or 4 will still save vs normal room rates.

It’s still the only game in town if you want effectively discounted rates on weekends, but only you can tell if it’s worth it to you.

The Wynn Slots Game is a mobile game that lets you earn free* nights at the Wynn Las Vegas and Encore at Wynn Las Vegas resort hotels. The original fan group for this game has been operated by Robert Novak since February 10, 2019. You can find it on Facebook at this link.

One of the first things we did when starting the group was to post a frequently asked questions (or FAQ) post, containing half a dozen of the most commonly asked questions about the game. It’s grown to over three dozen answers in different levels of excruciating detail, and remains the most consistent and complete source of information on the game operations and rewards available anywhere. The FAQ became so infamous among a few trolls that they created multiple groups explicitly to insult and hate on the original group, but most of them still remain in the group to this day.

For some reason, after 3 1/2 years, Facebook decided that the Wynn Slots FAQ violated their terms of service as spam, perhaps due to some brigading reports. For that reason, I’m posting it here, and will probably work on some updates in the near future. The links from the FAQ won’t work until I get them edited up.

FREQUENTLY ANSWERED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

UPDATED 2024-01-29
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS, AND ANSWERS AS FAR AS I KNOW. CLICK “SEE MORE.”

Please read before posting. Also please read the other announcement posts including the High Level Strategy Post. Thanks for helping make this a great group.

These are the most accurate answers as I can find. This is not an official FAQ so you are on your own if policies or practices change. The Terms of Service document at wynnslot dot com (v10 dated August 17, 2023; still the latest as of December 28, 2023) is the ultimate source of truth on policy from Wynn and the game. Always check the bottom of wynnslot.com for the latest version.

The invitational tournaments have a separate set of terms and conditions (dated August 23, 2022; latest as of December 28, 2023) at this link.

If you have questions that you require an official answer or support on, for the hotel you will find contact info on wynnlasvegas dot com at the bottom under “About Us.” For the game, you can contact them through the app, through their official Facebook page, via email to help@wynnslot.com, or through the contact link on wynnslot dot com.

There is no official support for the hotel or the game in this group. The game developers have a FAQ knowledgebase (added in 2022 I believe) at https://help.wynnslot.com/support/home?PT=0

The FAQ numbers will change as more questions are added.

*Also note that with app version 4.2.0 (11 September 2019 around 5pm Pacific time), the VIP program has been released, and much FAQ material around the VIP program can be found in the pinned post and the announcements. *

0. May I ask questions about Binions, 4 Queens, MyVEGAS, Comp City, Farmville, or Global Thermonuclear War here?

A. This group is for the Wynn Slots game. Off-topic questions (including questions about other games) may be closed to comments or deleted without notice. We’ll link to other groups for your non-Wynn-game needs (see the “about” tab). As for GTW, would you like to play a game of chess?

00. Should I hijack someone else’s post to ask a completely unrelated question or complain about something completely unrelated?

A. No.

00a. But it is about toenail fungus and people in this group have toenails.

A. Still no. Keep it on topic. The topic is the Wynn Slots game.

000. Do you work for the Wynn? Can you get me free nights/special treatment/a dolphin?

A. No. I don’t work for the hotel or the game company, and I never have. I just created this group as a fan of the game (and a longtime supporter and operator of online communities). I have stayed at the Wynn three times through the game, but otherwise I have no connections that you don’t have. And please don’t buy a dolphin. If you’re asking that on the Internet you aren’t ready for a dolphin.

0000. Can I play on my Amazon Fire, Blackberry, Windows Phone, pocket calculator, car entertainment system, laptop, desktop, tablet, or other device?

A. This is a mobile app for IOS and Android. If you have the Google Play store or Apple App Store on your device, you can get the app from there. You may be able to sideload Google Play onto Amazon Fire tablets (google “kindle fire google play” for instructions). Otherwise, no.

It appears that the March 2020 update blocked Android emulators like Bluestacks. In August 2020, it started working again, and later, it stopped working.

00000. Is it a good idea for me to post “F” or “Following” or a dot on a post that I want to be notified of updates to?

A. No. You may also get muted (prevented from posting or commenting) if you do this.

You can click the three dots or caret at the top right of the post and choose the notifications option there. The other ~15000 people in the group won’t know you’re following, but they probably don’t care.

000000. Is there a prize for asking lots of questions that are covered in this FAQ? Should I say “I don’t know if this is in the faq” or “lol” a lot? Should I whine about the FAQ or people suggesting I use it?

A. Yes, no, and no. You will probably be put on post approval for a month, or muted. Or both.

If you don’t know if it’s in the FAQ, look in the FAQ to find out. And we know you’re not actually laughing out loud.

0000000. Can I post referral links and things like that in this group? How about blog posts?

A. No referral links. If you have a blog or a Youtube channel and you post things related to the game, you may post them no more than once a week on the Woo Wednesday announcement post.” Contact the admin if you have questions about this.

00000000. I’m pissed off at the admin or the moderators. Should I block them?

A. If you like. However, anyone who shows up as “unavailable” in the member list will be removed. This includes people who block the admin (or any moderators) as well as people with suspended or locked accounts.

And anyway, most people like the admin and the moderators. To quote Daniel James, “Robert makes it soooooo much fun!!!”

000000000. Are you saving the answers to the questions I asked when I joined? Are you selling my info to the resorts and restaurants? Are you judging me for my answers?

A1. No, I look at them to see what people like, get ideas for future trips, and keep bots out, but I don’t save them and I probably can’t even see them again after I accept or decline your request. [Some time in 2022, Facebook seems to have added an option to show the answers, but I have never felt the need to do so.]

A2. No. Unless someone from one of the resorts is in my home office or looking over my shoulder at my phone, they have no access to that information as far as I know.

A3. If you put McDonalds as your favorite Vegas restaurant, then yes, definitely I am judging you. And given the dozens of misspellings of Bacchanal, that raises my eyebrows every so often. But in general, I only judge you if you get the first question wrong, considering the answer is in the question.

o~–o o~–o o~–o o~–o o~–o o~–o o~–o

The home screen has gotten pretty busy lately, but there is often something new in the game.

First, is this real? Can I really get a free room at the Wynn with this game?

A. Yes, it’s real, although it’s not free anymore. Hundreds if not thousands of people in the group have redeemed their gems for a room at the Wynn, including the admin. You can earn a king-bed room, or a two-queen-bed room at the Wynn or Encore side of the property depending on your VIP level. Although some people have been offered upgrades, some at an extra charge and some free, it is not guaranteed or even to be expected. There is approximately $170-200 in spend required in-game to redeem for rooms; read on. There is also a resort fee (now $50+13.38% tax, or $56.69, as of January 24, 2024) for game comps now – this was in the TOS but not observed for about 3 years.

1. Can I book more than one night? Maybe 2 or 3 or even 4 nights in a row? What if I need more than 4 nights?

A. *[Updated 2020-06-03] *Yes, up to 4 nights in a row if you are at VIP level 3 or higher, have enough gems, and if they have availability. With the new changes in Feb/Mar 2020, you need VIP3 for 2 nights, VIP4 for 3 nights, and VIP5 for 4 nights in a row. This comes down to in-game spend of up to $200 for VIP3, $400 for VIP4, $750 for VIP5.

You do not have to maintain VIP level 3 or higher through the time of your visit. VIP level only matters when booking a reward (room or buffet), not when actually staying. Many people have used a room reward like this since the VIP program came in*.*

When booking multiple nights, you click on the first night of your stay and the last night of your stay, not your check-out date.

Select the nights you want to stay, not check-in and check-out date. For example, To check in January 1 and check out January 5, click/tap January 1, then click/tap January 4. To check in January 2 and check out January 3, only click/tap January 2.

You may only have one reservation at a time, for one room at a time, through the game.

You must cancel an existing reservation in order to rebook. You can cancel reward reservations in the same place you book them (“Earn a stay at the Wynn” button on the main game screen). Your gems come back pretty much immediately, minus a 25% cancellation fee based on original gem amount (except for pandemic time frame cancellations–see pinned post for the latest on this). See future questions.

You cannot get gems back if you cancel a reward reservation directly with the hotel.

You cannot modify reward reservations outside the Wynn Slots app.

Note that reservation confirmation emails are spotty, but you don’t need the email to check in. You can get your confirmation number from the game app itself if you want, but that should also not be needed (unless you’re reserving a second stay before checking out of the first, and probably not even then). All you should need is a government-issued ID and a credit card.

**UPDATE 2021-04-11: It looks like the “night-before” booking loophole has ended as of the first full week of April 2021. This is a change in enforcement, not a change in published policy. But see next graf.

***UPDATE October 2021: There is now a 72 hour wait between reward bookings on the same account. This is in fact a new policy as of October. So no more booking the night before checkout or the night after. If you check out on Sunday, you can book a new reward on that account on Wednesday. So for stacking rewards, you’d want two VIP4 members (and yes, that’s $400 each for up to 180 days).

2. Do I have to pay taxes and resort fees and parking? What about Internet/wifi and the pool and the gym? What about deposits?

A1. The reward purchase (gem price) includes taxes.

A2. As of August 2022, it appears that the $45 resort fee (plus tax) is now being charged for reward stays beginning with October 2022. The resort fee has been in the terms of service for over three years but had never been applied until then. This does mean you get fitness center and standard wifi included with the resort fee, so some of the below may not apply anymore.

Self-Parking is free to registered guests of the Wynn Las Vegas (see the Wynn website or the Hotel FAQ for full details).

Pool access does not require resort fee or amenity fees, but the resort fee is generally required now. Free pool access does not include day clubs/nightclubs/Encore Beach Club.

A3. You will also have to put down a debit or credit card authorization for incidentals/room charges at $150/night, which will be refunded on check-out minus any actual incidentals. For a four-night stay, this is $600. You should use a credit card rather than a debit card, as debit card holds take much longer to release. Contact the Wynn Las Vegas directly with questions about this policy.

As of January 2020, the Wynn has confirmed that cash deposits will be $300/day, and they do not accept cash deposits for reservations made on the same day.

**If you have specific questions about your reservation or stay, contact the Wynn directly.

**There is no official support from the Wynn Las Vegas or the game team in this group.

3. Can I combine rewards from more than one player?

A. You should be able to combine two players’ rewards for a total of up to 8 nights at a time (if you both are VIP5 of course). You would do this upon check-in at the Wynn Las Vegas in person. As noted above, each player can only have one reward reservation at a time.

Generally, if rooms are available, you can keep the same room and same key cards on merged reservations, but this is subject to availability. Check with the front desk to be sure.

Note that with the October 2021 changes above (72 hour waiting period), you cannot stack contiguous reward stays with two people’s accounts unless you are VIP4 or higher and book 3-night or 4-night stays.

4. How do I redeem gems for rooms or buffets?

Buffet Answer: You don’t. Even though the Buffet is open as of July 2021, there is no news on offering the reward again, and we do not expect it to come back. They are booked solid for hours with waitlists and lines most days from what we’re hearing, so they don’t really need help filling the tables anymore.

Room Answer: On the home screen of the game, click on “Redeem Rewards!” Choose the dates you want from the Loyalty Rewards calendar, and if you have enough gems, you can book from there.

As of 2020-02-21, you must be VIP3 level or higher to book rooms.

UPDATE: As of 2020-03-04, anyone without a current reward booking can see the calendar. You still need to be VIP3 or higher to book. If you need to see the calendar but have a current booking, use the “Calendar Request Thread” in the announcements as usual.

You do not need to maintain your VIP level through your stay. You must have the relevant VIP level to book a reward, but if your level drops by the time you visit, you will be okay.

Note that your confirmation will not tell how many gems you spent, so make a note of it if you want to consider rebooking later. As of the VIP Program, you can calculate your gem cost on a standing reservation – start the cancellation process and it will tell you the cancellation fee. Multiply that amount by 4 to see how many gems you spent on the reservation.

You do not need to have a Wynn Rewards membership to play, but if you gamble on property, it’s highly recommended to sign up when you get there. In the past, a Red Card account was created for you the first time you check in with a reservation from the game, and after that you could view your game reservations on the Wynn website. We’re not sure how this works with Wynn Rewards (launched 12/21/2020).

You can play without being linked to Facebook. However, as of 10/29/2019, the Game Team has told at least one player that the ONLY way to recover an account is via Facebook; apparently, they cannot re-link you via Player ID alone. The game does not post to Facebook for you, and the names do not have to match. But if you don’t link to Facebook and your device is reset, lost, destroyed, or eaten by the Wynn Cats, you’ll be out of luck and starting over.

While you do not have to be linked to Facebook, an April 2019 update introduced a permanent identity connection with your account. This means you will put your name and address into the reservation redemption as before, and it will be permanently associated with your player ID. MyVEGAS already does this, so it’s not surprising, but you should be aware. Reach out to Wynn Slots Game support if your legal name or address changes. We can’t help you in this group.

You cannot book rewards for other people; you must be there to sign in and put a deposit down. You may not buy, sell, or trade rewards or accounts. See TOS for details.

5. How do I earn gems?

A. You earn gems by spinning/betting coins. Whether you spin in a regular game on the main screen, in the high roller room, or in battle mode, you earn toward gems based on how many gems you’ve already earned, and how many coins you bet. It has nothing to do with winning or losing, and bet size doesn’t affect the rate (although betting 16M will earn 8x faster than betting 2M of course).

When you start playing, you should earn a gem for every 500K coins you bet. That number goes up the more gems you earn, up to 25M when you’ve earned a lot. Look for the gem cost post in the Announcements for more details. Also, note that spending gems doesn’t reset the earn rate. Also see FAQ #15 below.

You are limited to accumulating 25,000 gems at any given time (gem cap). At that point, you can still play, and you can still earn VIP points from accomplishments, but you cannot earn any more gems until your current balance is below 25,000.

If you have a reservation through the game and cancel it, you will receive 75% of the “purchase” price in gems back, which may take you over 25,000 gems (by as much as 18750 gems), but you will still be unable to earn any more until you drop below 25k. So yes, you could have as many as 43,750 gems at a time.

As of December 2022, we have had reports that gem refunds from cancellation will no longer allow you to go above 25,000. As with a couple of other standard rules, they let this one slide for a long time but are now enforcing it from what we can tell. We see no evidence that people with over 25,000 gems are having them clawed back or removed.

There is no daily cap, and no lifetime cap. There is only a 25,000 gem-at-a-time earning cap. Gems do not expire.

5B. Do gems expire? When does the October 2027 calendar come out?

A. No. We have no reason to believe that gems expire. The reward calendar doesn’t go until the end of time, but just as the Mayan calendar reset didn’t cause the end of the world, there is no reason to believe that gems expire as long as the program and game continue.

See #16 below to estimate gem costs for dates that aren’t in the game calendar yet. Note that we do not know when the in-game calendar will be extended. Don’t ask.

o~–o o~–o o~–o o~–o o~–o o~–o o~–o

6. Can I cancel and rebook if the gem rates go up or down? Or add or remove nights?

[Added 2019-10-09] You cannot modify an existing reward reservation. This has been the case at least as long as the group has existed, and probably longer. Read on for how to “change” an existing reservation.

A1. *[Updated 2019-09-15] *Yes, with caveats. This has been done by many people. You can cancel in the same place you book (the “Earn a stay at the Wynn” button on the main screen) and receive your gems back instantly, minus a 25% cancellation fee. Be sure to read the terms and conditions, as you may not be able to get a refund of your gems within 72 hours of the day of check-in.

Also note that under the new VIP program, you must be VIP3 level or higher to book, including rebooking a cancelled reward.

Once you redeem, you won’t be able to view the calendar anymore, until the last night of your reward stay, or until you cancel your redemption. (This has been the case for over a year and is unchanged with recent updates.) Clicking on the “Earn A Stay” will bring up your reservation details. Ask on the Calendar Request Thread in this group if you want someone else to look up availability and rates.

A2. You can cancel to rebook a longer or shorter stay, if you are VIP3 level, if the nights are still available, and if you have enough gems of course. It works the same as above. You cannot book more than 4 nights; they must be contiguous (i.e. in a row, not Monday and Wednesday); and you can only have one reward reservation per person at any time (so no Mon/Tue and Thu/Fri at the same time).

You cannot add or remove days from a reward redemption. You have to cancel to rebook, and this only works if the nights are still available, and you have the current gem rates available.

7. Why can’t I book on <busy date in Las Vegas>?

A. Some dates around special events or high occupancy may not be available for reward redemption. This may change closer to the date, or it may not. See #16 too.

8. Who is eligible to play and redeem rewards?

A. People who are 21 years of age are eligible to play and redeem rewards, if they are not legally prohibited from doing so.

Note that, unlike a certain other Vegas-themed game, this means locals (people who live, work, or otherwise exist in Las Vegas and/or Clark County) are allowed to play, and redeem rewards through Wynn Slots, along with people who live, work, or otherwise exist anywhere else in the US.

The TOS (Terms of Service) posted 3/8/2019 says that UK/European Economic Area residents are not allowed to use the game or redeem rewards. Wynn Slots team has informed many people that this is a GDPR-related technicality, and several UK/EEA people have played and redeemed since then. So UK people should be able to play, redeem, and stay on rewards.

They obviously reserve the right to enforce this and any terms of service as posted, but they have consistently claimed that they do not intend to do so.

The TOS update from 7/26/2019 excludes residents of the People’s Republic of China and Macau from playing the game. This is not GDPR-related so I would expect them to enforce this restriction at least as far as reward redemption. YMMV of course.

Other than certain international treaty considerations in section 26, persons in other countries are not prohibited from playing the game, or from redeeming rewards.

9. Can I add my friends or invite people to the game?

Updated February 2020:

A. Yes. Anyone who is your Facebook friend can exchange coin gifts with you once a day through the “inbox” icon in the game. You can’t add anyone in the game; if someone who is your Facebook friend plays the game, you will be able to exchange gifts up to certain limits in the game (i.e. 20 gifts a day).

You may send a bronze scratcher or 100k-500k coins (you get no control over amounts sent). Most people prefer coins.

This feature is a bit quirky at times, but it does NOT take your coins away to send. Check the “friend feature” and “add me” posts if you need more info. No need to post complaints about gifts or scratcher gifts, and you may get muted or put on post approval if you complain unnecessarily.

10. Do I have to buy coins to get enough gems for a free room? Will it help me get more gems or different rewards?

A1. No, you technically don’t have to spend money for coins/gems, but you can, and it’s easier that way. And you do have to spend money to get to VIP levels to book rewards. Since purchases in-game all come with coins or the potential to earn coins (you could buy a multiplier and ignore it, but why?), you technically have to spend money to redeem your gems even if you got them free.

[This may be outdated but still worth a thought.] There are strategies out there that should get you to a free room in under a month of free play. You can buy coins and speed things up but it’s not necessary. See the High Level Strategy Post or browse recent posts; strategies come up fairly often in the group.

A2. [Updated 2019-03-20] No, with caveats.

As of 2019-09-11, the VIP program does limit reward redemptions based on your play and/or spend. This is documented in other pinned posts in this group. You must be VIP3 or higher to redeem for rooms at the Wynn, and VIP4 or higher for rooms at the Encore. VIP3 and higher get discounts on room redemption rates as noted in the game screens.

As of February 2020, it is no longer possible to earn VIP2 or higher without spending money, although during some special events in 2022 and beyond, it does become possible. With mildly obsessive play and special events, you can earn VIP1 without spend, but it’s easier with a piggybank or two anyway.

o~–o o~–o o~–o o~–o o~–o o~–o o~–o

11. Should I buy out my piggybank? Is it a good deal?

A. Maybe.

The piggybank grows as you spin in the game, starting at 5 million, adding 1% of your bets (not of your wins), maxing out at 100 million coins. At $4.99 (in the US, more outside US), it’s a good deal compared to the coin store as long as your piggybank balance is 6 million coins or more, and it’s a great deal when the piggybank is full (100 million coins is currently about $50 worth). But only you can decide if you want to invest in buying coins of any sort.

As of the July 18, 2019, update, piggybank buyout no longer applies toward scratchers (see below). Hyper Bonus buys don’t count either (that’s been the case even longer).

As of the September 11, 2019, update, piggybank buyout does earn you 499 VIP points toward maintaining or advancing your VIP status.

As of August 2022, there is a second level of piggybank which builds up to 150M (instead of 100M) at a cost of US$7.99 (instead of US$4.99) and gives 799 VIP points (instead of 499). If you break this piggybank 5 times, you get one piggybank free when accrued. This means that when you save up 900M (that’s betting 90B coins in the game), you would have spent $39.95, earned 3995 VIP points (almost halfway to VIP2 for what little it’s worth), and gotten 900M coins for that $40.

12. What’s with scratchers and collectors and battles and tournaments?

A1. “Scratchers,” named for scratch-off game cards that they digitally resemble, are the prizes in the periodic challenge events at 6am, 9:30am, 1pm, and 8:30pm daily (Pacific time). In August 2019 they added a 12:00am and a 3:00am scratcher event for a special Qixi event and seem to have left those active daily even after the special event concluded.

On the main screen of the game, look at the bottom center. There are four challenges to complete in each round, and you win a “scratcher” for each. Get all four in one round and you get a fifth one (Platinum for 1pm, Gold otherwise) too. They come in bronze, silver, gold, and platinum, and the fancier the metal, the more coins you can earn.

This is an easy way to focus your play and earn bonus coins. Note that the 1pm Platinum event lasts the longest and takes the most effort to win, but may pay off the best of the four each day. Often on holidays, Wynn Social has different challenges, and will announce them on their Facebook page.

You must redeem scratchers before the timer runs out. Once the challenge ends, your scratchers are gone forever. There is no grace period.

You earn VIP points for completing an entire event (scratching all scratchers including the final one). This number is shown on the event screen and is based on your VIP level.

If a scratcher requires a silver jackpot, find a game that has jackpots and play it until you win a silver jackpot. Some examples are Joker Wheel 7s, Wynn Wheel, Fire Eagle, Haunted Manor, and Lion Kill, but there are others.

If a scratcher requires free games, find a game that has free spins in it and play it until you get the required number of free games. These include Gypsy Riches, Dragon Power, Lion Kill, Mayan Ruby, Congo Cash, Enchanted Manor, Mystery Mine, and Royal Romance, but there are others. Generally free spins/free games do not include spins of a wheel; you want something where you get free spins on the reels of the main game. That means Fire Eagle’s bonus spins don’t count.

A2. “Collectors” are elements of certain games where you collect things (chests, hearts, etc) in the course of spinning, and can redeem them at certain thresholds for free spins or (in the case of Royal Romance) a pool of coins. These are a good way to get an extra bonus as you play, but they are not available in every game. Look around on the screen in a game to figure out if your game has a counter or meter for a collector. Winnings are tied to the amount you spin/bet getting to a redemption. On ROyal Romance it is 4.5% of your total bets until you get 30 hearts. Other games it varies.

A3. “Battles” are where you play 20 spins against a random player in the game. You choose the size of your bet and your game, and you’re put up against someone betting the same amount, in their choice of game. You can win BIG or lose your whole bet… it’s fun for some and others avoid it.

Note that battles sometimes get stuck, and the only fix is to wait 20-30 minutes or so for the battle server to reset your battle.

Battles do not earn VIP points, but if a scratcher event includes battles, completing the entire event earns VIP points as usual.

Free spins earned in battles count toward free-spin scratchers.

A4. “Tournaments” are periodic contests across all active players at the time. Sometimes they are for specific games, or battle mode play, and other times they are for any game you want to play. They don’t pay that well when you get up in score (3-5 million coins if you finish in the top 100), but if you’re spinning anyway for scratchers or battles, may as well go for another source of coins.

A4a. “Mini-tournaments” have come in with a July 2019 update. These are 10-minute events where the amount of betting required to earn a ball depends on your bankroll. There have been no known “team” mini-tournaments, just the individual player ones.

13. What about daily reward multipliers?

A. On the daily reward screen (which gives you a bonus every 15 minutes, a different bonus every 3 hours, and a bigger bonus every 12 hours), there’s an option on the left side to buy a multiplier. For $10, $30, or $100 you can get 10x, 30x, or 100x the bonus for 5 days – 120 clock hours (used to be 3 days). This means you’ll probably only multiply the 12-hour bonus 9 times, but the others are multiplied plenty of times. It can be a better choice than piggybank if you’re not betting much. Your mileage may vary of course.

As of June 4, 2019, there is a new “free tier” multiplier. If you collect your 12-hour bonus wheel at least once a day, you will get a 2x (after 4 times), and then a 3x (after another 4 times), free multiplier as long as you continue collecting the 12-hour bonus wheel at least once every 24 hours. There is a bug that makes it reset for some (not even most) people. If you have an issue like this, report it to the game team.

If you have earned a 2x or 3x “free tier” multiplier, and you purchase a paid multiplier, you will return to the previous free tier after your paid multiplier expires. Note that you can only have one (1) multiplier at a time, so they do not stack. This means if you have 3x and buy 10x, you have a 10x multiplier, not 13x or 30x.

As of September 11, 2019, the paid multipliers earn VIP points toward your status. These are indicated on the screen and are based on the US$ cost of the multiplier (1 cent = 1 VIP point). **They do not multiply your VIP points **earned from the 3-hour gold chest or the 12-hour wheel spin; those are based on your VIP level.

14. Can I get free coins from emails, mobile app notifications, and links posted in groups (like I do for the Caesars and MGM games and others)?

Yes, yes, and sometimes (as of June 2021).

Wynn Slots team has been sending emails fairly often in 2021 for extra coin gifts. The mobile app notifications have been going for a lot longer. Group links have not been very common but sometimes they will show up in the Wynn Slots Game page for special events. They also have been known to post mobile links on their social media channels including Facebook.

15. It seems like it’s getting harder to get gems, is that true? Should I just create a new account to start over?

A1. Yes, it is getting harder. Search the group for “gem cost update august 2019” for the estimated number of coins you have to bet to earn a gem (based on group member observations, not official statements of which there are none).

This “cost” number goes up the more gems you earn, and it does not reset when you redeem gems for a room reward.

Note that it is based on the number of coins bet, not the size of your bet, number of spins, or whether you win. One 8-million-coin spin has the same effect as 160 50k spins.

At 15k lifetime gems, a new gem costs 25 million in bets/spins, and that is the highest reliable boundary we have seen as of August 2022.

A2. No, you shouldn’t create a new account.

You’re allowed to have exactly one account per person, under the terms of service (section 7) for the game. This was updated in fall 2019 to remove the confusing SNS terminology, and now it clearly says, “You shall not have more than one Account at any given time, and shall not create an Account using a false identity or information, or on behalf of someone other than yourself.”

Doing otherwise is cheating (even if your exact excuse isn’t explicitly called out in the TOS, and even if you think it should be easier to get free rooms), and may get you banned from the game, booted/trespassed from the hotel, or in legal trouble (as it could be construed as violating innkeeper laws in Nevada).

People who post about doing this may have their posts deleted and/or called to the attention of the game team and the hotel (if they don’t notice it on their own) and may be booted from the group. So don’t.

Also note that buying and selling game accounts, rewards, in-game assets, or other game elements is a violation of the TOS, and discussion of these things will get you removed from the group and reported to the game team (if they don’t notice it first). Just don’t be stupid.

16. Why do room rates change over time? Why isn’t it always the same number of gems for a given day? Will rates go up? Will rates go down?

Since the last update of this section in 2020, the rate mapping has probably changed. I am leaving this content in until I can check numbers again and update it, but this is probably still somewhat accurate for the most part.

The tied rate is probably the Flexible Getaway Rate, although Wynn’s promo rate names change over time. Otherwise, these details have proven reasonably accurate. During the pandemic, the gem to dollar mapping has gotten a bit higher, but we have not analyzed it very deeply – it is still tied to room cost, so if a room costs twice as many dollars as much as last year, you should expect it to cost twice as many gems.

A. The gem cost is roughly 10x the lowest dollar rate for a Wynn Resort King room on any given date, +/- 12%. So if a room is available for $299 on the basic public rate (not Wynn Insider), you’re probably looking at roughly 2990 gems (more likely 3000). Generally, rooms at $900 and up are not available as rewards. (See #7 above). Peak dates (i.e. festivals and major holidays) will probably not be available regardless of the cost. Blocked dates may come and go.

Since hotel room rates change over time based on events, occupancy, maintenance, and other reasons, the gem redemption rate will change over time as well. Your admin has never seen a noteworthy deviation from the above adjustments, meaning that the game redemption rates have (at least since February 2019) tracked cash rates very consistently. The game developers are not out to get you.

17. Why does the game say the next challenge is several hours away, when it should be happening now?

A. If you’re jonesing for a scratcher challenge event, but the scratchers aren’t available when you think they should be, don’t worry.

Sometimes the game gets “stuck” and doesn’t sync up properly. You should completely close out and restart the game app on your device. This almost always resyncs and makes the event show up.

Normally you should see events throughout the day Pacific time with half hour gaps between them. [See Q12 A1 for the schedule.]

18. What do levels in the game mean?

As of the 2019-09-11 update, there are two kinds of levels. The “Level Up” level, next to the gem count (look for a star in a circle with a tiny ribbon, top right of the screen) and the VIP level (purple circle with a crown and a number between 0 and 5).

A1. Generally, “Level Up” levels don’t mean anything at all after level 20 (when the high roller room opens up betting).

The game team has explained that “Level Up” will unlock certain play aspects (bet levels in particular, it seems) for new players. You also get a bonus when you go up in levels.

Battle mode tier 2/3/4 open up at levels 5/10/15 respectively.

Regular game tier 3/4 bets open at levels 6 and 12 respectively.

High Roller Room bets are locked until level 20.

We do not have any firm data on when you will earn a level. The data reported so far suggest that levels do not impact gem earning rates, and nobody has ever reported gem cost going up at a level boundary.

A2. VIP levels enable reward redemptions and discounts. You earn VIP points by completing scratcher events (all scratchers in the event), collecting 3-hour and 12-hour bonuses, and from buying in-game currency and multipliers.

VIP3 level is required to book room rewards, and VIP levels 3 and above get percentage discounts off the base gem cost for rooms.

See the other Announcement posts for now to see what we understand of this program at this point.

19. Can I redeem my gems for rooms at the Encore Las Vegas, Wynn Macau, Encore Boston Harbor, or any other Wynn property other than the Wynn Las Vegas?

A. Updated August 2022. Yes, No, No, No.

The awards available at this time are a King or a Two Queens room at the Wynn, and a King or a Two Queens room at the Encore. Encore reservations require VIP4 or higher, while Wynn reservations require VIP3 or higher.

This means that you cannot redeem your gems for rooms at the Wynn Macau, Cotai, Boston Harbor, or any future Wynn developments unless the game states otherwise. If you want to know if this is likely to happen, ask the game support team on the Wynn Slots Game page; nobody in this group knows.

If you’re reading this anywhere but the Wynn Slots Tips & Tricks group on Facebook, or on one of Robert Novak’s blogs, it was most likely stolen and may not be reliable or accurate. Don’t trust it to be accurate. (C) 2023 Robert Novak. Tacos are great.

Note that many players have reported being able to make a Wynn reward reservation and then check in on the Encore side and ask for a room there. If they have reasonable availability, it’s possible that you can get an Encore room even with a Wynn reservation, but not guaranteed. Worth a try though, as Uber and Lyft will drop you at either property.

20. Do I need to pay a deposit? I didn’t read #2 above.

A. You will have a $150/night incidentals deposit authorized against your credit card at check-in–you agree to this in the terms of service when you redeem for a reservation. This is not charged per se, but it deducts from your available credit on the card. Also, due to some issues with the promotion, some people have seen an authorization for the original cash room rate as well and have seen the room rate and tax show up on the in-room folio display.

As of January 2020, cash deposits for incidentals will be $300/night. The Wynn will not accept cash deposits for same day reservations.

CHECK YOUR FOLIO ON THE IN-ROOM TV BEFORE CHECKING OUT.

If you have concerns or questions about this, contact the hotel directly (contact info is on their web page). And be sure to check your folio either on the TV in your room or at the front desk before checking out. It’s easier to fix these quirks in person, and the hotel has not shown any hesitation to make it right on the spot.

21. What is Hyper Bonus or HBHB?

A. It’s a mode of some games where you can buy “free” spins with multipliers with your credits. You do not pay cash for Hyper Bonus; you pay with the coins/credits you have. Look on the left-hand side of the screen in the games to see which ones offer it. Feel free to search the group for suggestions about this, but be aware that it doesn’t work miraculously for everyone and it’s an easy way to win big or lose big depending on luck.

A lot of people think the Hyper Bonus in the Hong Bao game (known as HBHB) is the best way to win. Others have no luck. It’s still a gambling simulator, so don’t expect any luck.

Free spins purchased in Hyper Bonus games do not count toward free spin scratchers.

22. What is the lightning bolt next to the Play button?

A. On most screens, the lightning bolt makes spins complete a bit faster. Turning it off (so it’s not yellow) makes spins complete a bit slower. It does not affect your luck or payouts per spin. It does not give you an electric shock or turn you into Captain Marvel, sorry.

23. If I ask a question that seems obvious or self-evident, has been asked several times in the last day, or makes no sense, might someone make a snarky response or post a meme? How do I avoid this?

A1. Yes.

A2. Check the FAQ (or Super Short FAQ) in the Announcements, make sure you’re asking a question that has an answer, and realize that folks in the group see a lot of the same questions over and over despite our rules and mod team/admin efforts to the contrary.

24. Can I book rooms in the app if I’m in Las Vegas? MyVEGAS doesn’t let me do that.

A. Yes, you can. This isn’t MyVEGAS.

You still have to have the required VIP level, have at least 72 hours since your last reward reservation ended, have enough gems for the reward, and the reward has to be available for reward booking.

25. What’s with the Wynn Cat(s) I keep seeing mentioned?

A. There are a number of actual, literal cats who make their home at the Wynn Las Vegas. One is often seen on the walkway going down from the main gate toward the crosswalk to Fashion Show Mall, but reports suggest there are at least two or three on property; they’ve been reported there for the past ten years or more.

The hotel staff have told group members that they are fed, watered, and given shots and other veterinary care at the hotel’s expense, and do not require rescuing. See the Wynn Cat album in the photos section for pictures group members have taken.

There are also Wynn Dogs (part of the security department), Wynn Falcons (often seen with their handlers by the pool), Wynn Robot Dogs, and lots of small and medium birds at the poolside venues including starlings and crows.

26. What is crop dusting? Why is it bad?

Crop dusting is a reference to the use of flatulence to sneakily pollute a room. In this case, it’s having a message you want to spread, and commenting incessantly on lots of posts whether they’re related to your message or not. It can also be associated with hijacking, where you post an unrelated comment or question on someone else’s post.

If your message is acceptable, it should be worth posting on its own, once. Littering other people’s posts may get you muted and/or booted.

27. Can I use my gems for someone else’s room, or send gems to someone? Should I buy an account on eBay?

No. Section 7 of the terms of service forbid transferring virtual currency, accounts, or gems in any way including buying, selling, trading, giving, or transferring in any way.

You can lose your account and be banned from the game and the hotel if you try to violate those terms.

You may only book for yourself, redeem for yourself, and use your own one single account to do so. (See also #15 above)

Any discussion of violating the terms of service will probably get you booted, or at least muted, by this group.

“• You shall not sublicense, rent, lease, sell, trade, gift, bequeath or otherwise transfer your Account, any Virtual Currency or any Reward associated with your Account to anyone without our written permission.

“• You shall not access or use an Account or Virtual Items that have been sublicensed, rented, leased, sold, traded, gifted, bequeathed, or otherwise transferred from the original Account creator without our written permission;”

28. Is the game rigged? Is it illegal? Should I sue? Should I post clueless bleatings on lots of posts about how it’s rigged and I hate it?

No, no, no, and no, respectively.

While the game is not an actual casino game regulated by the Nevada Gaming Commission, it is a game designed to simulate slots and blackjack gambling in a casino. As such, there are odds of winning, and anyone who assumes they should always or even often win is confused at best.

As with most gambling situations including real lottery scratchers and slot machines, your odds are very high of not winning, and very very low of winning the top rewards on a particular game. Scratches in the Wynn Slots game have a much higher chance than physical scratchers in a state lottery, and other games are probably more “lucky” than their real-world counterparts as well.

If you think the game is rigged against you, don’t play. Simple as that.

If you think the game is illegal or that you should sue, I hope you find a smart and talented lawyer who will give you good advice and talk you off an expensive cliff.

If you hate the game, delete it from your device(s) and leave the group. We don’t care.

98. Do I have to charge my phone to play? Will a newer phone be faster than an older phone? Are buffets available yet? Do I have a Constitutional or God-Given right to post and comment in this group?

A. Yes. Yes. Yes. No.

99. I have a question that I need an official answer for. What do I do?

A. For game questions, either read the terms of service on wynnslot dot com, or if your question isn’t answered there, go to the “Settings” -> “Help” option in the game. For hotel questions, go to wynnlasvegas dot com. Phone numbers and email addresses are under the “About Us” link at the bottom of their main web page.
